Here are a few highlights from our summer as we waited for visa information…
- The robins hatched! Since the nest was in a hanging flower basket, we were able to watch them grow and develop. It was fun to hear them peep and squawk for food as they doubled in size every day!
- Our little Luka isn't so little anymore. He celebrated his 7th birthday on June 28th in usual water-park-fashion with some good friends. They played in the water, in the trees, and on the lawn. Lots of presents, watermelon and cupcakes! We're very proud of our little man. He's wise, very sweet yet fiery, and cracks us up with his hilarious imitations.
- Spent lots of time in the Montana wilderness hiking. Took advantage of the beautiful trails and enjoyed the occasional June berries and clear, blue sky. Lots of fires in late summer, yuck!
Hiking the M
- My brother, Mark, visited for a few days in June. He's my little brother and it was good to spend some time with him as we don't see each other very often. We hiked, soaked in Chico, and loved watching the boys get super excited about Uncle Mark!
Camping. Loved it!! Found a great spot up by White Sulphur Springs. The rain and Army Worms were a bit much at times, but the smores, Grammie's laugh and time fishing with Grampie more than made up for them!
- We ran the Children's 1K at the Sweet Pea Festival again this year. Titus joined Luke and I and blew us away by running 90% of the race. I was amazed at his ability to just keep running! I neglected to have him stretch after the race however, so he limped around like a bow-legged cowboy for a day or so before bouncing back. :)
- Lewis and Clark Caverns…Aaron and I went there on one of our first dates. It was weird going back 14 years later with two children. We had a blast and the boys loved journeying into the center of the earth!
